The Coach

Coaching that respects the process

Growing up in Jonesboro, Arkansas, sports were a big part of my life. I played a variety of sports throughout my childhood, but basketball became my main focus. Being an athlete helped shape my appreciation for hard work, competition, and the process of getting better.

That passion eventually led me to Arkansas State University, where I earned my undergraduate degree in Exercise Science. After graduating, I began working as a personal trainer with Arkansas State's Red Wolf Wellness program, helping faculty and staff build strength, improve their health, and develop fitness routines that fit their lives.

Today, I'm building Tarver Performance Coaching, where I work with individuals and athletes throughout the Jonesboro area. My goal is to help people become stronger, move better, and reach goals they may not have thought possible. Whether I'm working one-on-one with a personal training client or helping an athlete prepare for competition, I believe progress comes from consistent effort, purposeful training, and a willingness to keep improving.

I also enjoy creating fitness experiences that bring people together, from small-group training to wellness challenges that build accountability and community. No matter who I'm working with, I want every person to feel supported, challenged, and confident in their ability to improve. For me, coaching is about more than the workout. It's about helping people build habits, develop confidence, and become better versions of themselves.

Build the athlete. Earn the results.

I want every athlete I work with to leave better than they came in. That means getting stronger, moving faster, improving the little things, and learning what they're capable of. We train with a purpose, work hard, and build progress over time. The goal is to help athletes perform at a higher level and carry that confidence with them beyond the gym.

Every session is a step toward the athlete you want to become.
